About
In April 2006 I weighed 373 pounds on the doctor’s scale. It was not a surprise; I had seen the scale counters moved far to the right many times before. At 42 and 6’4” my body should only be carrying 200-220 pounds. Plagued by type II diabetes, depression, and a tendency to get sick every few weeks it was clear that I had to make a change. The question remains, can I lose the equivalent of a grown man in body weight? After all, I have many failed attempts under my belt, why would this attempt be different?
This is why this blog was born. By chronicling my weight loss I hope to keep my mind focused on the task and my motivation high. I also hope that this blog will help motivate others with large amounts of weight to lose.
The blog will feature guest writers, people who have already lost or are losing a great deal of weight. We will have recipes and product reviews. You many be surprised, but we will not feature any ‘Diets’ on this blog. My own experience tells me that temporary changes to eating habits dooms those that have a tremendous amount of weight to lose.
So I hope you will join my friends and me. This is a place that understands the needs and trials of people having faced or facing the loss of a tremendous amount of body weight.
